If you’re looking for more peace or deeper insight, it may be closer than you think. I’m in Los Angeles this week encouraging you to claim your nature.

If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know that a big part of these videos, and my life, involves getting out into nature. So let’s talk about why that is, and how you can capture and benefit from nature more effectively.

To make sense of our lives, it’s useful to get out into actual life, nature, to gain perspective and inspiration. Aside from the obvious benefits – oxygen, exercise, beauty – nature is also the ultimate metaphor. Whatever you’re trying to accomplish happens everyday in some way, naturally.

Nature is patient, efficient, peaceful, savage, and enduring. It’s also both macro, and micro. Take in the connectedness of everything, or zoom into anything and see it expand. Observe, asking, “how do these principles and patterns relate to my life and my job?”

Nature also reminds us that while life persists, some lives come and go, as will we. We’re participants in a beautiful story, for a fleeting time, and you get to choose how you live, grow, connect, create, and contribute.

Some will say, “But I don’t have time to explore nature.” Ridiculous. It’s everywhere! Your neighborhood park, a nearby stream, your back yard. Find a tree. Look up. Look down. Look around. Listen. A few minutes, or even intentional moments plugging into nature can help you get grounded, focused, and recharged.

Nature is yours to enjoy and learn from, free of charge! So claim your nature, upgrade your life, and until next week, stay Off Balance On Purpose.
